I greatly value from Yahoo Site Explorer, and now it is no longer available.
For a competitor's Web site link checking what other way?

Have you ever tried using any of the widely available SEO Tools site/link cleaning it? here are a few suggestions:

SEOBook tool bar
In the toolbar
SEOmoz toolbar
Bruce Clay SEMToolbar

What kind of link you're trying to accomplish specific research?

None of them are ideal ... anyone using yahoo site explorer very disappointed right now. Nothing seems to suit my needs now, I've tried a few different things.
SEO binoculars worth though.

You can also try Alexa and SEMRush. Of the two, SEMRush better identify the link. It also contains the source and the target URL. However, it will probably only be free when in BETA.

Both identify links and Yahoo did.

Bing said, integrating them into their webmaster tools Yahoo Site Explorer feature. Here is their saying: "Bing algorithms when the transition is complete, have been incorporated into the site Explorer Yahoo Search Bing webmaster tools.
