Internet search engines are special sites that help people find information online. A search engine maintains a database of all the sites or web pages that have been indexed.

When someone uses the search term to search, the search engine will go through its database and choose a site that is considered relevant to the search terms used. Not looking for the actual site at this time. This only serves to search sites that already has in its database.

Search engines have software programs called "spiders" that search the Web continuously. These spiders crawl websites and web pages then identify them according to the words that stand out or keywords.

A new website crawled by the spiders will be reported and recorded in the database search engine according to categories or keywords that have been deemed to belong. Spiders will keep coming back to the site to find information worth of new footage.

Websites that appear on the first page of search results typically have high page rank. This ranking system is based on the mysterious algorithms that vary among search engines. A website has a ranking for keywords or search terms.

Websites with high page rank usually they are perceived by the search engines have become an important site or an authority site. This means they have a lot of other relevant sites linking to them, ideally, through hyperlinks that use their keywords as the anchor text.
