You could go to Flippa or Sedo and see for yourself. There are tons of sites for buying and selling all the time – you'll see the offers, read about the process of buying/selling and so on ...

Not clear what you mean by purchasing the expired domain.

Obviously, buying and selling domain names is a huge industry.

(Which is also an easy way to throw a lot of money. So do your research is important.)

DNJournal is a good place to find out what is going on in the industry. DomainNameWire and DomainInvesting two news sites will also help explain what's going on.

The main industry forum is DNForum, NamePros and DomainState. There will be a lot of people on this board who would be able to advise you.

You can buy the domain name expired domain registration company more.
There are also many individuals and businesses that sell domain names expire.
One thing that I would advise you to do a search on any domain name to build it didn't have many backlinks. In addition, you need to be careful when buying a domain name PR, PR, multiple domain names. Then take additional research if you are planning to get a high PR domain name.
